What is Paternity Benefit?

Paternity Benefit is payable for two (2) consecutive weeks beginning with the date of confinement and ending not later than 16 weeks from the birth of the child.

To avoid unnecessary delay in the processing of your benefit, please ensure that all aspects of this form are properly filled out, and that it is returned to the Social Security Office as soon as possible along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate.

Benefit Rate

Paternity Benefit is paid weekly at a rate of 60% of the average insurable earnings of the insured person in the 26 weeks immediately preceeding confinement.

When and How to Claim?

Claims for Paternity Benefit should be made on the approved form(Form PB1) and submitted to the Social Security Office as soon as possible along with a copy of your child's birth certificate.
